Empower Simcoe is pleased to begin offering Fee For Service programs to our community. This means that people supported can access valuable learning and recreational opportunities with the direct funding they receive, which can include either the Ministry of Community and Social Services (Passport) or the Ministry of Child and Youth Services (Special Services At Home).
Our Fee For Service programs aim to enhance the lives of individuals with disabilities by promoting their social inclusion, independence, and access to various services and opportunities. These services may include skill-building workshops, recreational activities, educational programs, or vocational training.

Discover the joy of gardening with Empower Simcoe’s “Grow Your Own Way” program. This hands-on experience is designed to teach you the fundamental skills of gardening, from planting seeds to harvesting your own food.

Skills to Thrive is an engaging 8-week program offering practical skills across eight crucial areas including safety, well-being, money management, and more. With expert guest speakers and interactive learning methods like games and hands-on activities, participants are set to gain essential life skills for thriving.

Cooking Up Capability is designed to empower individuals to become more independent in the kitchen. This inclusive and adaptive course provides a supportive environment where participants can develop essential culinary skills and gain a sense of accomplishment.

This is a dynamic six-week program designed to enrich lives through social interaction and skill-building activities. Participants will enjoy an array of engaging activities including pool, darts, card games, and sports viewing, alongside meaningful ‘Talk of the Town’ conversations.

Social Club is for people who would like to mingle with new people and foster friendships. During the 6 weeks there will be engaging activities planned each week, like ice breakers, games, crafts, as well as plenty of time to chat and get to know each other.

The ‘Ex-press Yourself’ course is a unique blend of melody and motion, designed to unleash your creativity and get you moving in a fun, inclusive environment. Come join us and discover the joy of movement, the power of music, and the freedom of self-expression!

Our Snoezelen environments are designed to create a soothing and engaging space for individuals that helps reduce agitation and anxiety. You can book our Snoezelen Rooms conveniently online, providing access to these therapeutic spaces in both Barrie and Orillia.

Our Summer Adventures program offers a diverse array of themed activities, each providing a unique week of fun and learning. Participants will enjoy everything from water sports and wilderness adventures to culinary arts and creative arts. Highlights include trips to Canada’s Wonderland and the Toronto Zoo. Join us for a memorable and engaging summer experience!

Youth Link is an after-school & evening program designed to empower youth of all abilities. Our program aims to cultivate a sense of belonging, foster personal growth, and equip participants with a diverse range of skills. Through engaging activities, mentorship, and a supportive environment, Youth Link strives to bridge gaps, promote inclusivity, and nurture the unique talents of every individual.

Siblings are invited to come out and meet other sibs (usually for the first time), have fun, laugh, talk about the good and not-so-good parts of having a sib with special needs, play some great games, learn something about the services their siblings receive, and have some more fun! This Sibshop is open to all children and youth (ages 8-13 years) living in Simcoe County who have a sibling with special needs. Lunch is provided.
